Endo Education
Ensuring future generations are appropriately educated on endometriosis
We Don't Know What We Don't Know
Endometriosis education is lacking at every single stage and touchpoint. Tackling the entire system in one go is a gargantuan task, so we’re starting with what we’re teaching our future doctors. The very same doctors who will be assessing future endometriosis patients, deciding their care pathways, referrals and treatment options. You’d think it was important that they learn about such a debilitating and common disease, right?
Well, unfortunately, endometriosis is currently rarely taught at clinical schools in any formal way. We’re working to change that. Starting with University of Cambridge, we are challenging an 800 year old institution, that calls itself the UK’s leading medical school, and asking why there is no formal endometriosis teaching on their curriculum. We will change that. Future doctors that come out of this world class University will know what endometriosis is, how to help their patients, and the impact this disease has on women’s lives. Because right now, they simply don’t.
We won’t stop with Cambridge either. We are aiming to create a gold standard for endometriosis medical school training; a standard that can then be applied to clinical schools everywhere.
